Short Guided Meditations: How to Fit a Practice Into Your Day

A short guided meditation can fit into a few minutes between activities. Choose a session you have time to finish, find a comfortable position, and follow the prompts without trying to make the experience feel a particular way.

Choose a natural pause

You might listen before beginning work, between meetings, or as part of an evening routine. If the day is already full, try attaching your practice to something you already do, such as making tea or closing your laptop.

A simple way to begin

  1. Settle in a supported position. Keep your eyes open or closed.
  2. Listen to the first instruction and let your breathing stay natural.
  3. When attention wanders, gently return to the voice or another comfortable point of focus.
  4. At the end, notice the room before moving on.

What if I only have a moment?

Choose a session length that fits rather than rushing through guidance. You can also pause a session and return later. A short practice is an option, not a test to pass.
